9 Months!

Clay doesn't sit still anymore taking these pictures on the couch.

Clay is 9 months! He has now been outside in the world longer than the time he was growing in my belly.  This month, Clay has learned how to pull himself up to standing. He loves standing at the coffee table and yelling so that Luke and I look at him. He has one full tooth and is starting to grow another.  Clay is a really good eater and loves to eat cheddar cheese chunks and blueberries with plums.  I've been trying to make all of his food, but he's also been lucky enough to eat Puffs, which he can't get enough of.

Look how fun it is to put on Daddy's shoes!

During April, we had some fun adventures, including a 3 night trip away to Manhattan. Luke and I left Clay in Marin with my parents and had our first weekend away from Clay together. My mom sent us pictures while we were gone, so we knew Clay was in good hands.  Luke and I got to enjoy some nice dinners (Fig and Olive!), leisure time at Central Park, visit with Luke's Uncle Paul, see a Yankees game and go to the Natural Sciences Museum.  It was a quick trip away, but we had a blast.
Date night: Fig & Olive

I was sure to make a stop at Levain's Bakery for some freshly baked cookies

Clay got to experience two Easters! Easter in Colusa with family, and then Easter in Marin. He has so many cousins, and we can see that he loves being around all of the kids.
Sasan Clan (minus Clay, who took a 3 hour nap right during the Easter festivities)

The Steidlmayer Cousins!

Clay experienced his first egg dying session and cookie decorating afternoon. His Schad, Kessi and Fleishman cousins showed him how to get it done. Owen Schad gave Clay good healthy advice and showed Clay how to eat his decorated hard boiled egg immediately after dying it.
My mom surprised me when she showed up in Colusa that day with Maile.

I was prepared to entertain kids that day with eggs dying and cookies

Immediately after dying his egg, Owen cracked it open and ate it

Luke and I went to a Willie Nelson concert at the Mondavi Center in Davis. Willie Nelson was really old... at first he seemed uninterested on stage and "talked" through his songs.  Once he got warmed up though, he put on a great show!
We asked Anna to babysit Clay. Just kidding! We had a student from UC Davis' tennis team watch Clay and the girls.

I ran a 10k with my sister Maile and brother Matt. Clay cheered me on!
Pre-race, we're all smiles!

Post race, we're still all smiles!

I had my first Mother's Day as a mom. Luke made me breakfast and then we took a fun drive over to Chico to get coffee and walk around Bidwell park.
